John Scott
Born Camden, NJ, Illustrator specializing in
men's subjects like hunting and fishing. At the age of 16, he studied
illustration in Philadelphia. Before WWII he
concentrated on drawings and paintings for pulp Western magazines published by
Street & Smith and by Dell. During WWII he was staff artist for Yank magazine.
After the war he turned to the slick magazine such as This Week and Woman's Day
as well as Canadian publications. By the 1960s he was specializing in men's
magazine, particularly wildlife assignments for True and Sports Afield.
