Born San Francisco, CA, illustrator specializing in rural subjects including the frontier.
Worked in a San Francisco bank while studying nights at the California School of Fine Arts.
Moved to NYC by working on a lumber boat via the Panama Canal.
Futher study was Guy Pene du Bois, Harvey Dunn and Julian Levi at the ASK and the Grand Central School of Art.
